Serious Play Conference Announcement

 

As I mentioned in my last update, I applied to present at this year's Serious Play conference, and I'm very excited to announce I was accepted!! I will be presenting on the OSR therapy group I've been running for the last couple months and why the OSR is useful for RPG therapy. The conference is in Rochester, NY, August 13-15. 

Springtime Update

Hello! This blog may have been quiet for a while, but I've been busy. I have been running a therapeutic D&D group for a few weeks now using B/X edition, which has been a lot of fun and a great way to start getting clinical experience. I'm not sure how much I should write about that on here versus other more professional places. For example, I am planning to present on the group, as well as the virtues of the OSR in therapy, at the Serious Play Conference this August, which is quite exciting.

Other than that, I've been getting to play through the classic module The Veiled Society as a magic-user, which I may write about once we're done with it. I haven't gotten to be a player in a long(ish)-running campaign before, so I'm having a blast. I think we may play Isle of Dread once we're done with the current adventure, assuming any of our characters survive.

My RPG design projects have sadly taken a backseat behind grad school, professional development, and activism in our increasingly dire political landscape. Someday I will get back to Bloodlust But Good and some of my many, many other underdeveloped ideas.
